The terminally ill care centre was started in Lourdes Matha Hospital Pacha, with 5 inmates in March 1996.It is dedicated to Mother Chantal ,the co-foundress of SABS. She was filled with the Eucharistic Zeal and devoted her life for the socially ,physically weak and downtrodden by visiting and caring the sick and poor in their houses and villages. In 1998 we shifted to a seperate building with more facilities close to Lourdes Matha Church pacha in the name Mother Chantal Seva Niuvas.
We receive unidentified and unwanted ill patients from different hospitasls especially Medical College with out discretion of caste ,creed or language. Patients are also brought to us from different villages and by voluntary organizations and dedicated persons for paliuative care. So far we taken care of 100 inmates from various states, languages and religion. We try to provide Food, shelter,clothing and possible medical and nursing care and prepare them mentally and spiritually to lead a peaceful life and have a dignified end. At present we have facilities for 20 inmates.
It is recognised under the Board of Control for Orphanages and other Charitable Homes, Kerala.
